This hotel is a 5 min walk from Düsseldorf airport. As you come out at arrivals you need to follow the red signs, you will probably see the sign for the Sheridan hotel first u0026 the Maritim sign does take a little while before you see it, but if you start walking in the opposite direction to the Sheridan you will start to see them.
From arrivals the signs take you along the road (there is a footpath the entire way) u0026 then have to go up the steps, whereas if you are coming from the departures area the signs take you along a bridge with no steps
When you enter the hotel from the airport side you walk past the bar u0026 lounge area u0026 then have to descend steps to get to reception. All these steps might be an issue if you have a lot of luggage The lobby area is huge with a number of restaurants, but I didn’t eat in any of them.
I actually grabbed some food u0026 snacks in the supermarket in the airport arrivals area (more cost effective)
Checking felt like it was longer than other hotels, so does take some time if there are people in front of you, but the staff were very pleasant u0026 spoke English.
Wi-Fi was free u0026 good throughout the hotel
The room was a really good size lots of space to move about, lounge chair with footrest, office table u0026 chair, coffee making facilities, lots of storage space, fridge (no mini bar in it). There is AC/ heating but it is not a digital dial, I had it turned to cool but it didn’t make a difference to the room so I turned it off. The window does fully open for air though u0026 although you are beside the airport, with the window closed there wasn’t much noise u0026 I had a good sleep as the bed was comfortable
The bathroom was a good size with room around the sink for toiletries, the shower was a bath shower that you have to step into, but the pressure u0026 temperature was good. The hairdryer was attached to the wall, I didn’t use it but it looked like one of the better hotel hairdryers
The hotel has a gym, you have to get different elevator to it. It’s the elevator beside room 21 on whatever floor you are on. It is signposted. It opens at 6am and you use your key card to enter, the sensor is on the wall beside the door and is easy to miss as it isn’t signposted. There is a pool but I didn’t use it
The gym itself has 2 treadmills, a stationary bike u0026 a cross trainer. There is also a lot of weight machines and space to do a body weight workout although there are no mats or free weights. There are towels, sanitising provision to wipe down equipment u0026 a water cooler
I only said here for a night, but as it is so close to the airport, in that you can walk and don’t have to worry about hotel shuttle schedules if you arrive in late or have an early flight, u0026 it has all the facilities you need I would recommend it - although it isn’t the cheapest airport hotel it definitely is convenient
