Clean and spacious rooms, great location. It was almost perfect for us to stay overnight. The only thing that made us worry is front door made of glass. It was a safety concern for us because it seemed to be very easy to break in.
Breakfast was really good and offered lots of options. The staff was very friendly and helpful and allowed us to leave our luggage at reception for a few hours after check-out.

The "hardware" of this hotel was actually OK in relation to the price. The room was not great, but clean and fairly spacious. The elevator has been out of order since months though and they don't seem to care. Not nice if your room is in the third floor.

However we were rather appalled by the service. The receptionist spoke no English and very limited German, was extremely slow and not very helpful. It took her an hour to resolve a minor issue on check in, and through that time we had to wait in the lobby although we proposed to leave the money for the room upfront. Although we asked several times and were assured our room had two beds, it didn't.

We didn't feel treated like customers, and this hotel does not seem to care about training their staff properly.

The hotel is very good value for money and despite the mixed reviews, our stay has been good for the most part. The hotel is very well located, a straight road walk to the Königsallee and the Aldstadt. It is also very accessible with the uBahn but this isn't a necessity. 2 minute walk from an aldi or lidl also so you wont go hungry! Staff are all very hospitable people. We only have two complaints with our stay. Firstly, the wifi is pretty awful, it only covered half of our bedroom and even then it would come and go so if you're here for business and need wifi this should be considered although you could sit in the lobby as the wifi is strong there. The other complaint is with breakfast but it's not major. As it was included in our price, we cannot complain as we arnt paying for it. However, if it is not included, do not have it as it isn't worth much, the selection is very small and limited and there is very little seating. However, the hotel area is small so there is not alot they can do and shouldn't be criticised for this. Overall, the Novum Ko is a good hotel in a great location and while there is room for improvement, it definitely does not deserve all of the complaints its previously had and we would stay here again. Just sort out the bloody wifi please!

Not recommended ever!
1. The elevator doesn't work. Seems like it's been out of order for long long time. You should take all the luggage to 3rd or 4th floor. Check other feedbacks.
2. I was supposed to stay here 4 nights, but i checked out earlier, because all of sudden wifi dis not work for 2 daya. It messed my biz trip up. So i went to another hotel, but no compensation from this hotel. Just took my 116 euros.
3. There's no fridge, no ice, no complimentary water.. .
4. Breaksfast was very poor.
5. TV in the room had no channel. Even remote control didn't work.
6. I should have booked other hotels at a bit higher price, because there are many better hotels 5 mins away.

I had to change two rooms until I found a proper one. The first one had a big hole in the door, the second could not have it's windows closed properly so cold air was coming inside. The receptionist was not willing to support helping me as a customer to get the problems resolved first, instead she was chasing me for paying the money for the accommodation in advance.
I don't recommend staying there.

First, i have booked my room for 2 single beds, but i was given keys to a simple double room, after talking with reception and explaining the problem i was given keys to another double room. Had to go disscuss the situation second time and receptionist explained that they dont have any free 2 single beds room. After some negotiation he offered free breakfast.
Second, rooms has very poor sound insolation. As our neighbours decided to keep on partying all night long i had to go and ask them to stop since its 4am.
Third, in morning before eating breakfast i had to sign paper as well i wanted to make sure breakfast was free but i ws assured that i had to pay. Since the receptionists changed thought the night new one didn't knew anything about offered free breakfast. I had to argue multiple times till she spoke with everyone on the phone and figured that its free, very frustating since from begining it was their fault.

Also cleanliness and crtv could be improved..

Very poor experience. The dead bolt on the door did not work. Upon entering the room there was NO toilet paper and 3 kleenex tissues! The shower was filled with black mold and after 3 days of use, I took our glasses down to the front desk to be replaced. After that I turned them upside down and left them in the sink. Not all of their desk clerks spoke English, so complaints/requests were not responded to. Except for the toilet paper - that we received! We will not stay there again.
