I was in Germany for work and signed up for a monthly Evo membership. The gyms were nice. When I had to leave the country unexpectedly at the end of September, I forgot to cancel my membership in my haste to travel. On Oct. 1, the day I was billed, I asked Evo for a refund of this month’s fee—50 euros—since I won’t be using their facilities anymore. They said no, adding that they are not legally obligated to refund me any money. I understand that they aren’t **legally** obligated to do anything. But I would expect a supposed premium gym to offer customers respect and lenience—particularly since my request was just hours after billing. If you value customer service, I’d suggest another gym.
