A lively and fascinating venue. One of the first things you see on entering are the big copper vats where there own special brew is being prepared. Their own brew is too easy to drink and when you are close to finishing another glass appears so when you have had enough pop a beer mat on top of the glass. The food is very good quality and great for a large selection of traditional German meals. Keep an eye out for their special menu.

I think we were just unlucky but our waiter was incredibly impatient and rude just because we were foreigners who don’t speak good German yet. Very unprofessional.

The place itself is good - it is historic, the staff are polite and fast, but they don't really try to understand that you don't speak English and continue to talk to you in German.

There is a nice garden in the back yard, which you may not notice at first.

The dish in the picture is something typical Düsseldorfish and it wasn't the best I've tried, but if you want to try something local it may be a good option.

Waiters are not too friendly but they're not rude, they keep serving beer really fast and the food is absolutely delicious and very well sizrd. I could not even finish my plate. Try the Schweinhaxe

Directly at Belsenplatz, so very easy to get to, lots of space, food was lovely, the staff were very child friendly and brought out paper and pens to entertain the kid's whilst we waited for our food, It is one of my son's favorite places to go, They have English menu's too, and the staff have good English, you can pay with card and they have a daily menu too

This is our family's favorite "local" restaurant. The menu is composed of high quality German cuisine and rotates with the seasons - fantastic asparagus in May. Service is polite and professional. The outdoor dining area is vibrant and relaxing. We highly recommend the Alter Bahnhof in Oberkassel.
