Every year when I am in Duisburg - and it's not on a Sunday or Monday when they are closed - I visit Faktorei to enjoy one of their burgers. Good quality food including the veggie burgers, friendly service and a fantastic location at the Inner Harbour (Innenhafen). One of the better restaurants at this harbour although with the other places you can't go wrong if Faktorei is fully booked. Probably better to make a reservation.

One of things I like is that they work with - I believe - hotel and restaurant school students every Tuesday. The food they prepare is delicious and it's a wonderful experience.

I regret they are not open on Sundays and Mondays but then again that's a good choice I guess because you can't work and deliver quality seven days a week.

The burger I had there (the one with salmon) was delicious! The atmosphere was nice for a quiet dinner, homey and comfortable. The staff was really nice, spoke English. I would definitely recommend the place if you're up for a burger (they also have a veggie option) or a steak. There were also some nice deserts on the menu, although the huge burger was quite enough for me. Prices are reasonable for a nice restaurant. I thing my burger was around 18€, but there were also cheaper and more expensive versions.

Nice burger! Had the Blaumacher. Lovely taste, big portion!
