We went on a sunny Sunday morning, there were no reservations available online, but we were able to get a table for two. Great interiors and friendly service. Hot chocolate was milk and chocolate chips in a separate pouch, which tasted really good. I would have preferred the Herzhaft u0026 SÜß breakfast option with the pancakes and eggs separated. But otherwise a great breakfast experience.

It’s okay not to have an English menu, we don’t expect it but not even a slight attempt to help with the menu. We have been to places that have offered to help even with poor English - it always helps with the experience. (Update: Owner responded below to say that there is an English menu but when we asked the staff - she said no and was super cold towards us. We also saw another tourist asking for an English menu and she said they didn’t have one. Obviously staff are not trained)

That aside, we ordered the eggs Ben and shakshuka - both are served with cold stale hard bread… Shakshuka was just some simmered root veggies with poached eggs - not baked eggs. Tasted average at best and nothing like what we have eaten. Eggs Ben was pathetic - I mean stale bread? Seriously…

Also don’t expect good coffee here… it’s bad.

Fries were the highlight of the entire order!!
Bread dumplings with mushroom sauce were just okay - dumplings were just bread so didn’t taste that great, it was just doughy. Mushroom sauce had the perfect flavor though.

We only grabbed some drinks to catch a break, and it was the perfect stop! Great location, you can people watch, reset, relax! Bonus: their menu looked pretty good too!

Food: average. It's not enough to use good ingredients, you should also make some good interesting preparation with them.
Price: a bit higher for the size of the portions, if the taste was better, then prices would be right.
Service: most of the personal tries to be friendly, but most of the time we were there (on a Sunday noon) we were ignored. The food took forever to come to the table, and the dessert we ordered (Apfelstrudel) came after 30 min of being asked, and I don't think they were making it from scratch in the kitchen.
Positive side: it's right on the touristic area and it's possible to pay by card.

We came on Sunday shortly after 12 with the idea of having breakfast but then we were kindly informed that the breakfast is only served until 12. It was a little confusing because on the menu it was stated that on Sundays there is brunch offer until 15:00 and the rest of the menu is only available from 15:00...
Anyway, after the small disappointment, we went on to order something from the normal menu and it was actually quite good. The truffle mayonnaise was very tasty.
The waitresses were also very nice and attentive.

Update:
After a few additional visits I feel like I should decrease my rating by one star. In my opinion some of the dishes are overpriced for the amount that is served, e.g. the shakshukah. And I personally didn't like the carrot cake, tasted too artificial.
