Pros: Large, soundproof room in a good location (if being central is important to you).
Cons: Curtains were too bright, not even close to black-out. When we turned off the light around 11pm, it was as though it was daytime. If you're on the main square, this is really bad as it's well-lit all night. Four hairs on one of the pillows. Room could also do with some updating.

Spacious and comfortable room. Excellent mattress and pillows. Reception staff very kind and helpful. Male staff in the breakfast room probably ex-Stasi, though : rude and extremely condescending! All items on the buffet were delicious and of high quality but finding anything was a drag as there are too many buffet tables spread throughout the room, so I was exhausted by the time I finally had everything on my table. Very inadequate tableware - no proper plates, only round bowls for everything.

Huge rooms in an excellent hotel that is perfectly situated in inner Altstadt with nice and friendly staff.

Location perfect. Room with space, bathroom amazing, everything super clean. View from our room to Neumarkt perfect. Design of the whole place minimal but not cold. Breakfast had everything to offer, all fresh and healthy. Staff always with a smile and helpful.

No bathrobes, internet extremely slow, the fridge is empty, no kettle, no free electric socket near bed.
The shower was really nice, the location is great.
Cleanliness is so-so.
Breakfast is really poor and it's strange how they serve it. Some food is there to be grabbed, like salami, cheese and fruits, but you can also order from a menu, something like scrambled eggs. If you order you have to wait a lot and when it finally arrives it's a really small portion with a very strange taste. If you don't order you have to eat salami and cheese and that's not nearly enough. Overall, the breakfast is really poor and I really don't recommend it.
When I arrived at the hotel, I parked my car at the rear of the building because if I was to continue to the front would've ment to enter the square and I didn't know the rules. I walked on foot to the reception and I clearly explained that I want to dropp-off my luggage and to leave with my car to the city. I clearly explained that I don't plan to use the hotel parking, that is too expensive. The girl told me that the only way to leave my luggage is to go to the underground parking and I did that. After we did the check-in and let our luggage in the room I went to the reception to asked if they can clear the card for the hour that took us to check in and they said I have to pay for it. So I had to pay 5 euro for the drop-off. This never happened to me before, all hotels lets you do the check-in parking for free, except this one.
After staying there I saw other cars entering the square to the front of the hotel without any problems. At check-out I did the same, it wad no problem.
Another problem with reception it was that we had to call 3 times before someone picked up. The receptionists should be better trained.
In conclusion I will never stay again at this hotel.

I've stayed at 3 similarly hotels in this area of Dresden, and can say that overall I like the Vienna House the best. The advantages are bigger rooms, very comfortable beds, spacious bathroom, and everything is very well appointed. Meting room facilities are excellent, with a very nice break-time area with lovely views. Food and snacks provided for meetings were excellent too. The two disadvantages are a simpler breakfast. The buffet choice is much smaller. The check-in/payment process could be smoother too. My colleagues all agreed with these two points. Otherwise the customer service is excellent. Will definitely be my hotel of choice for my next work meeting.
