Off from the historic city centre, located in the old masonry basement of an insignificant building, you will be overwhelmed by the gastronomic excellence of the place. Inventive kitchen with love and craftsmanship, excellent service and the wine pairing with wines from the region. You may choose the size of your gastronomic indulgement from 3 to 8 courses. We were very very pleased with 6.

A really fanatic restaurant! The very cozy atmosphere makes one feel at home right away. This combined with the special surprise menu makes for a real adventure evening. the menu is very well balanced with very different style dishes that all go together wonderfully. Not to forget a superb wine selection matching the dishes.
This was without a doubt the best culinary experience of the holiday.

Quite disappointed. The prices and past reviews made me believe this was going to be a fine dining experience to remember. Unfortunately, this was not the case.
Atmosphere upon entry was awkward, with several waiters and waitresses (including the apparant hostess) passing us by multiple times before we were greeted and seated.
After waiting 20 minutes to order our entry drinks we ordered a 4 course surprise menu containing meat and fish respectively, including a wine pairing menu. We were quite curious to see what variety of meats and fish choices the kitchen would come up with in their simplest of surprise menu's. Imagine our surprise when the first course was vegetarian! Don't get me wrong, I definitely enjoy vegetarian meals, but thats everything we didnt order..
The second course, a clear beef soup, was very standard and boring.
And I must admit the main course - iberico ham with a good pairing red wine - was ok. My partners fish main course (the only one of 3, after ordering for a 3 course fish surprise menu) wasnt interesting at all, and had a weird wine choice.
Sadly the last course was again mediocre as the full sweet dessert wine overruled the sort-of-sweet dessert.
After the second course the staff stopped asking how the food was, as if they knew it wasnt up to Gault Millau standards. Ordering drinks after dessert was only possible by walking up to the bar ourselves, so no thanks. Even the bill we had to go fetch ourselves at the bar. Even here the staff didnt even dare ask how everything was and if we enjoyed our dinner. All in all: a lot of potential but overall disappointing. Would not recommend

What a deception!
Really dissapointed. Expected much better after all the positive reviews posted here.

Food is nothing special. Choice the 4 course 'surprise'menu with fish. First course was vegetarian mozzarella with tomato. Second was a clear beef stock (really?!). The ombrefish didnt have the right cuisson. Wine pairing was off.
This is not what I expect of a fine-dining GaultMilliau restaurant. Price-quality ratio not in balance. Way too expensive for what you get.
Service was really poor.

Would not recommend at all.

Can't recommend this place enough!

The food was great, service super friendly and the *'cave' like room has a nice vibe.

Go for the surprise menu, it's much cooler to be greeted by delicious food with a hint of "oh wow, what's this".

Only comment I would have is the romantic, relaxed vibe was somewhat cramped by the fussy and impatient twins at the next table (approx 6yr).
