Very interesting Church, but the best part is climing the Church stairs to get Up to the roof where there is a Platform where you can See Dresden from above

The walls of the interior have a tough unfinished plaster work, which is very Protestant in its deliberate plainness. Some of the walls where from what was left standing and there's a clear delineation between the old stonework and the new concrete. The only stained glass I could see was at the high altar. A fairly transparent window designed liked the longitudinal lines of a globe.

Really, there’s not much to see, even though it’s considered a landmark of the cit

Kreuzkirche (free entry) is a Lutheran church located at Altmarkt Square in Dresden. It is home of the world famous Dresdner Kreuzchor Boys Choir. Visit the church website for concert schedule if this is something you are interested in seeing during your visit to Dresden.

The church itself has a long history reaching back to the 12th century. Several buildings have stood upon this location over the centuries and the church has been heavily damaged due to conflict during both the Prussian bombardment of the Seven Year War (1754 and 1763) as well as the Dresden Bombing in 1945.

The interior of Kreuzkirche is somewhat stark and sobre in appearance. There is simplicity, with a painting of Christ upon a crucifix above the alter and much less opulence compared to what you can see at Frauenkirche. The church exterior is notable and interesting to view but similarly less decadent and memorable architecturally compared to Frauenkirche and other buildings in the Neumarkt and Royal Palace areas of the historic city centre.

Note: There is an interesting statue arrangement dedicated to Julius Otto Denkmal just outside Kreuzkirche, in front of the NH Collection that is worth having a look before or after visiting the church. Unfortunately signage there is in German only.

I can't judge the inside of the Church but the from it is amazing, you can see the entire Dresden. It was the first place that I've visited and from there we could plot our next steps.

Went up the tower... Better choice if you want the view of the city than the Frauenkirche because no line.

Great viewpoint to see Dresden and the surrounding area from. A long climb up but there are places to rest and it's well worth the effort.
