Super well designed and curated museum: You will learn about the culture of the German „Bergmann“, how coal shaped the entire ruhr region and see real historic artifacts. If you come during the week it‘s also very quiet and quite relaxing walking around.

"The Castle of labor" As they call themself, is a 19-20th century coal mine preserved for these days, whole facility is a one big museum. Adult ticket is 5€, you can climb to one of green towers that were used to pull up the carts with coal. Really big attention to kids, but sadly as most of the things are only in German, but still is worth to check out. If you would be travelling from Dortmund there is a direct train to here of the time of writing this stop is around 10minute walk from this place.

Fantastic place. Very interesting exhibition and all industrial buildings are well restored.

It makes for an interesting day out, very informative

The view into the Miners and their life section is only in German, as well as the art exhibition. Everything else like the informational placards around the site and the history of the plant are given in German and English.

It is nice museum and since this mine was designed as a model mining facility, it is more aesthetic than practical.

Nice to see it is in great condition. But please, this is a place that toerists from different nations will visit. So stop with all the info in German only. Start using English also. It will take our visit to a higher level
