Rooms clean and tidy, nice looking hotel.
Towels a bit hard and only couple of small bottles of sparkling water for 4 to share over two days and not restocked.
Owner and lady serving dinner at night generally attempted to be friendly but others pretty much seemed to be uninterested if from the UK and like us with no real grasp of German,
Had no lingual problems of note when in the city as most tried to help or could speak English.
Quite a walk to main train station, especially if with bags and a bit secluded if walking at night.
This is a hotel for the locals, if you want a more cosmopolitan stay, go to Dortmund Central, easier/quicker to get around and much friendlier.
