We went here recently and had the 4 course dinner. It was just an outstanding experience. Everything from the food, the timing and the staff was absolutely a great experience.

I ordered the "surprise menu" and was absolutely delighted with it (although I only captured the last two dishes). It was very tasty, definitely worth the price and the steak was one of the best I have had. Staff was also very friendly.
I recommend it if you want to go to a nice place for fine dining while you are at Dortmund. Would definitely come back.

Was ok. Not sure on the reverse sear, sous vide method for cooking in this environment as it takes a very long time to cook a 250g steak the same as you would on a grill as standard. Also not sure why they love USDA meat so much.

Such a beautiful setting.
Had the surprise menu, and we were not disappointed. Amazing flavor combinations, we wanted to lick the plates.
Staff was very attentive and spoke really well English, and was so kind. We had brought our 3 kids age 7, 5 and 3, and the kids menu looked good and tasted good. They even made a special dessert for our children. Definitely a place we would visit again if we come to Dortmund.

Absolutely best restaurant in Dortmund.
If you're a tourist, it doesn't matter how long you stay in Dortmund.
Just Go to Emil.
You'll enjoy mouth-watering a wide variety of steak.

However, do not expect the table service on time.
Waiters/waitresses are TOO busy with full of customers.
Go have wine or beer and wait for your service.
