This is a hotel where a person can come in and exhale, relax and settle in for a comfortable and homey stay - induced into by the warm lighting and pleasant decor, the attentive staff and the intuitive nature of the details from the lobby to the corner of the bedroom. The only thing that I imagine that hinders this hotel is the location - it is difficult to imagine that such a place exists in the hustle and bustle and general chaos of central Dortmund - and the lack of visibility of the hotel from the street. In that sense, it is an oasis. The hotel also has a feature that used to be the norm, while dieing out in recent years - a (comfortable) business room with two computers. The breakfast, which is included in every booking made directly at the hotel, is served in a cosy lounge and once again the layout is intuitive to a comfortable breakfast where the food can be savoured. The range of food is wide and seems to cater to every taste. I have travelled across five continents for thirty years and stayed hundreds of nights in three to five star hotels, and I think that this hotel is in the top bracket of those, as it provides what a traveller really wants - a stay where you can breathe out and relax in a setting that reminds you of a well-kept home.
