#Bucketlist Experience. If you are ever in Köln and wish to experience a unique dining experience... this is one not to miss... It is meant to give you a sense of how it feels to be blind. It can be a bit nerve wrecking at first. You cannot imagine the adrenaline rush that comes with it. Our waiter was however extremely courteous and humourous. He made us feel very comfortable within minutes. The food was great even though I'm still not sure what was on my 5 course menu on the night.

One of the best experiences in my life, food, service, everything. Specially because I have food allergies that they were very careful about. Hope the pandemic gives us all a break soon so I get to visit Germany and the Unsicht-Bar again.

I think we were unlucky going by some other reviews here, but our waiter was rude, aggressive and made the entire experience stressful/unpleasent rather than fun - rather than giving any direction on how to communicate with him or what to expect he just got cross with us for not being clear if he asked us something - an added personal bonus for me was being hit in the face with a plate as i had no idea he was about to put one down near me.

Also an absolute no go if you have allergies. I had discussed with manager what I can and can't eat but was not confident it was being taken seriously enough to eat food that I couldn't see. In the end I gave up and came out of the dark room to eat and I'm glad I did - I was served two food items I am allergic to. One of which I had to ask about 4 times, was repeatedly told (less than politely) 'it's fine for you' but when I kept pushing and was finally told me the ingredients it was another ingredient I can't eat.

Steer well clear.

Wonderful experience eating in the dark. The staff is super friendly and made us feel at ease and welcome. The food was really tasty and the texture and aromas amazing. I can surely recommend!!!

It was a very nice experience. I really recommend it. The food was good, but the experience of not seeing anything was better :-) the waiter was nice and able to speak German and some Spanish.

Very interesting experience, good food u0026 fun waiters. Not something I‘d do more than once though.

Eating in the dark allows for a completely different type of sensations. Not only when it comes to the food, but also in terms of communication. I felt my partner a lot further away for example. You have to rely a lot more on your other senses - how things smell, taste and feel.

The whole program lasts for about 3 hrs. For me it was a bit too long. Sitting in the dark for this long + eating + drinking wine made me very sleepy. I couldn‘t wait for the program to finish. ????

For two person we paid around 90€, incl. drinks.

Food was great, but it was the unusual experience of eating in the dark which made the dinner unique. Waiters deserve a shout out for their amazing service.
