I have found the worst McDonalds in the world! Here is why...
First, to make an order, I had to wait no less than 10 minutes. Probably 15. Even though only 4 or 5 people were ahead of me in line
Second, you have your McDonalds branch next to Holiday Inn Express hotel in Cologne. The hotel which sits 10 minutes away from major convention ground that host events like Gamescom, which we were going to yesterday. The event itself spans 10 large halls, and the hotel is fully booked with visitors, most of which are international.
Yet this McDonads branch decide to hire a full non-English speaking staff. And you know how sometimes the staff is politely smiling and trying to understand your order? Well this is the opposite case here. The guy stares at you in mix of frustration and and anger, as if it’s your own fault that you visited a city without mastering their native tongue. And it’s just plain food order. They can just learn few words and make their life and ours easy. Instead my order alone took no less than 5 minutes, while everyone behind me is annoyed waiting for me to finish my order. I even simplified it and didn’t ask what i want exactly.
After I finally ordered, and got my order, it was wrong. It had 6 Fish Filet sandwiches instead of 5, and no Veggie sandwiches instead of the 2 I ordered. When i went back to tell him, he replied in what means “We dont have!” Wth? Why didn’t he tell me then?
I asked for the receipt, and it showed he punched wrong order. The manager (i assume as he was wearing black color different than others) then stepped in, trying to explain they will replace one fish for 2 veggies at same price. When I understood what he said, he just turned around, blew air out in anger, and literally tossed the fish sandwich back over the counter in the backside, and the sandwich fill out of the box. Right infront of all customers. Completely careless.
2 minutes later he puts two Veggies on my table. So not sold out!
Around me were different nationalities who had to suffer the same trouble as I did. It wasn’t only me.
Ok so if you don’t wanna hire English speaking person, at least put one of those self-service order screens? Nope. Not even that. Let’s do it the old slow and painful way.
Obviously no one cares to do any inspection here and make sure McDonalds values and standards are even close to be met.
