Amazing museum, well worth a visit, I especially found the excavations on the ground floor really nicely presented and set up for visitors.
There are several floors, so much to see , also nice to see the reading room they have set apart as the guidebook is a very extensive read.
Staff very helpful u0026 friendly at reception.

Exhibition almost as original as an architectural design. Hands down it's one of the best museums in the city of Cologne.

My favorite museum in Cologne - quiet, peaceful, breathtaking. Go by yourself even!

Today there was a live classical music trio playing in one of the rooms - the music echoing through the entire place - magical!

Beautifully designed museum.
The only thing that I found disturbing is that guards kept following you everywhere. Kinda uncomfortable if you want to take pictures or enjoy your visit.

Beautifully designed museum and very interesting exhibit, but absolutely infuriating method of getting information about the pieces. Half the pieces only have a number. The other half have nothing at all. Where they exist, the numbers aren’t in order. You then have to look at a 163-page(!) PDF that goes room by room telling you what each piece is. Except in the book the numbers are in order, and the book also has many pieces that are nowhere to be found in the exhibit. Non-numbered pieces are described too, you’re just supposed to engage in a scavenger hunt to figure out what the text is referring to. Please, just add brief text next to each piece!

Kolumba is art museum in Köln, it stands where once was a Gothic church which was destroyed during the second World War. Designed by Architect Peter Zumthor, a Pritzker Prize winner. This is a must visit for art and architecture lovers.!
