I was charged for staying there, even though my family and I did not. We showed up after 4 hours of driving and a canceled flight earlier that morning hoping to rest before driving to Amsterdam. There was a festival going on with thousands of people, they informed us that the hotel ha very "limited" parking which seemed to be valet on the curbs upfront, and we would have to figure it out. I had booked it through a 3rd party booking agency which was kind enough to submit a refund request for review. For being under such terrible circumstances I was hopeful for a silver lining. One hour later the 3rd party booking agency called back and let us know that they were unwilling to refund us, we had to pay the full amount, and the free parking that was promised on the website is only available some of the time, but under "special circumstances" like that evening it is not guaranteed! This would have been fine and dandy had they warned customers prior to big events that this may be a problem and paying for your parking of walking 8km may be a reality. Even after the booking agent explained this and asked politely to cancel the booking made 30 minutes prior on the highway because we were exhausted....we were still charged and denied any common decency of even an appology. They still charged us full price, receiving no apology or remorse for the situation. The staff was rude, unhelpful, and unacommodating. Save yourself and find another place to stay. Even under the best of circumstances I could not imagine the service getting any higher than what it already was. AND TO SET THR RECORD STRAIGHT, you are making it seem like it is the 3rd party booking service as to why we did not get a refund for the hotel we did not stay in. For clarification purposes the "3RD PARTY" booking service was willing to refund the booking and sent you a letter on our behalf about the situation to help aid in doing so. It was not there fault you denied the refund request, that was all your company's fault. This was not an appology either, this was simply trying to patch up the holes with explanations on your horrible failure at customer service.
