One of the best zoos we have been to. The admission fee was reasonable and under the bridge, right across the street from the entrance, is a bunch of parking that was only 5 euro. We enjoyed the sea lion show, we were amazed at how well they could catch frisbees and balance balls. The food inside the zoo was also reasonably priced. The zoo got a little crowded, but that is to be expected on a Saturday.

Nice zoo with huge spaces for the animals. Especially the indoor elephant housing is impressively large. For kids it ticks all the boxes. And easily to walk around or use the rental boulder car so you can pull the smaller kids around. Entrance fee a bit on the high side.

The zoo is quite big and easy to reach from Cologne. The animals appear well looked after and the place is clean and organised. The only thing I would say it's missing are water fountains! It was extremely hot when we visited and it is not very sustainable to keep buying water when you could have water fountains around the zoo. Otherwise it was a great day out, very interesting and fun!

One of the best maintained zoo that we have visited. Inspite of being in the middle of the city (I envy the houses which are along the boundary of the Zoo and can watch the adorable animals from their homes) there is ample space for the animals and birds to be housed. The aquarium has an amazing collection of fishes and reptiles. If you book your tickets online you also get to travel on the local train / bus transport for free from Bonn to Köln. Definitely a place to visit while in Köln or Bonn

Nice city zoo. Some of the exhibits are wide and new, others seem old-fashioned. It's compact, as most city zoos are. The nicest exhibits are the huge elephant exhibit, the primates, and the hippodom(e).

A day is not enough to spend your time here with your loved ones. There is a ticket counter so you don't have to worry incase you didn't book it in advance. The train station is directly infront of the place so it is easily accessible. There are different places allocated to the animals according to their place of origin or their environment so it is exciting to go from one to another and spend your time. There are coffee shops in between and also restrooms available.
Highly recommend to go early and spend your quality time there. You can also take snacks inside and get a picture clicked as a souvenir.

Very cute zoo, close to the city center.
It isn't huge but it's definitely well kept and there are areas where animals are free to come as close to you as they wish (no touching policy, tho). Lovely experience.
