We arrived at 11 pm, but our room had people in it when we walked in. The hotel gave away our room by mistake. My family had to wait in the 3rd floor hallway for 30 minutes while they figured out what happened and got us a new room, so check in took 45 minutes in total.
At 11:45 most nearby restaurants were closing. The best thing the staff could suggest was McDonald's at a train station. There are better options, but you have to figure those out on your own (Google maps helps).
The air conditioner had limits on temperature settings. 21 was the lowest option, and they have thick blankets so I got hot at night and woke up. Played around with the thermostat, changed it to English and removed the mimitation. The hotel staff should have made sure their AC temperature limits are removed prior to check in.
Not a great start to my first trip to Germany :(
