Cars on the bridge sound like white noise, and the airplanes started flying overhead at 9:30pm for us but stopped after an hour or so. Really nice cycle route into cologne from the campsite, we got to the cathedral in about 20 minutes. Warm showers and clean toilets.

Very good experience, English speaking staff, clean bathrooms, good kitchen, common area with power supply. Close to river. Not so quiet because of a road and an airport, but for me it was quiet enough. I can recommend for backpackers.

We spent two nights at this campground in our VW van while visiting Cologne. The sites are close together, but you can't beat the location: you're right on the river. We could bicycle to Cologne in 20 minutes, on a scenic bike path.

The showers were hot; bathrooms clean. There's a restaurant/beer garden within 100 yards of the campground gate that serves hot food until 10 p.m. There's also a little kiosk within the campground that sells cold beer and a few basics

There's also a big sheltered area where people can sit and cook if it's raining.

The staff were friendly and helpful.

We would happily stay here again if we were visiting Cologne!

Called in here at 1pm on Sunday 10th April.

Goal was to empty our toilet waste and have some lunch and rest a few hours in the campervan.

We didn't want to stay overnight, but were happy to pay for a nights pitch at full price.

The owner just said no as soon as I mentioned not wanting to sleep, didn't give any reason just said no.

I felt like I was polite and had offered to pay normal price.

If I could understand the reason I would maybe rethink my star rating.

But as it stands a firm 0 from me and I wouldn't come back to even stay overnight.

Very nice campground, friendly staff, clean facilities, 15 min by bike along the river to the city center, only reason to not give five stars is the motorway close by that can be heard.

Nice camping site at cycling distance from the city center. It is located right at the edge of the river, you have a nice view. The toilets and showers are clean. There is a cooking area with hot water, free gas stoves and benches and tables where you can sit. The kitchen area is open day and night. The management warned me of bike theft. It is pretty easy to pick up a bike and carry it across the fence. They have created a fenced cage where you can store your bike, it gets locked at night. There is a tiny store, I have not used it as there are supermarkets nearby.

Minus points:
- When it rains, draining the water away can be problematic, water puddles appear.
- Even though the camping site is located at the edge of the city, there is a some background noise. There is a suspension bridge nearby with a lot of traffic. The traffic on the river is noisy too.

Plus points:
- Nice relaxed atmosphere.
- Large trees provide shade in hot weather.
- View of the river Rhein.
- At cycling distance from the city center.

Overall it is pretty good, It is a nice relaxed, no frills camping site. I have stayed there again (and again) after my initial visit.
