My 3 year old son recently got a Beta fighting fish with aquarium as a gift and named it Orkaval. Just like that I was thrust into the amazing secret world of aquarium keepers. Like many beginners I thought fish were extremely low maintennace and I was suprised that for a healthy aesthetically pleasing aquarium some time and effort is required. Luckily Aqua Tropica has a well informed staff and well stocked shop that equipped me with everything I needed plus loads of advise and useful tips/ tricks. Even though I knew nothing about what I needed I never got the feeling the staff was upselling or recommending unecessary equiptment.
When the shop has a few customers you might have to wait to speak to a sales person because they deal with all querries quite thoroughly. For this reason they have a comfortable waiting area and you can always browse the store and look at all the fascinating aquatic plants and fish. This is great when you have a young child as they don't easily get bored and get a rare interaction with varied animals in the city.

While we did buy a fish there, the worker continued to tell me that we needed to buy more things, and perhaps another, better fish tank than we had. However, he didn't know what fish tank we already had at home. The fish are decently priced, but I think that they try to "upsell" too hard. It was getting into the obnoxious, even after my objections.

Amazing aquarium shop, well stocked both for seawater and freshwater fish. The display tanks are spectacular and worth the visit. Really excellent selection of corals as well.

Worth stopping on a city tour!
Store got accessories, plants and fishes, you need for fresh and salty water aquarium.
I was admonished by 5 meters long aquarium, just next to entrance.
In offer full asortment of JBL products, ready tanks with microsystem.
