I stayed here for a week in a one bed room with a private bath. The place is clean, has a kitchen and is situated in a great location, close to the river and the main train station. The staff is friendly (big thanks to the handsome guy who helped us with our laundry). The only disadvantage was the cooktop which didn’t really work. But I’ll definitely recommend it to my friends.

Amazing hostel, the girl at the reception has amazing vibes and is super welcoming and friendly (red hair blue eyes), very clean, quiet and well located. Perfect hostel in my eyes ! And cheap !!

Just adding onto my review from November 2021 after staying for a duration of times a couple times in May 2022. Townside has pretty much everything a traveller needs, and the location is great. The staff are friendly and accommodating (big shoutout to Darleen). Gets a little hot on the top floor.

To be honest the place is fully equipped. It was sparkling clean and even though this has been during the pandemic time, the people here were super prepared. I would definitely come back, unfortunately I couldn’t meet the staff who work at the hostel because I arrive super late and left super early but everything was ready for me to arrive and leave. Maybe the only thing I would suggest is upgrading the pillows which are a bit weird and offer towels? Besides that I am just thankful to you guys! Take care and best wishes :)

I came to Bremen for a conference and I remained attracted by this hostel for its low prices. My flight was delayed, so they gently allowed me to check-in out-of-time and pay the day after. They didn't provide locker keys (apparently mine was broken) so I was forced to keep my stuff on the bed for the first night (the day after they provided with another locker). It was with fairly great disappointment I discovered towels were not included in the reservation. The amount to pay was not huge, but I would like to be notified in advance on the website if this is the policy adopted. Although Bremen is not a big city, the hostel sits fairly far from downtown, at least 10 mins by walk, which is a consistent amount after a day of complete walking. The hostel features both shared and private (in rooms) bathrooms, which are quite clean. Staff was gentle and keen to help. In particular, special mention to Thomas who welcomes people after reception closes. However, after Thomas leaves (around 23:00), nobody is patrolling the building. The building is pretty old and doors are secured with traditional keys, but they don't give a feeling of safety. In conclusion, I would rather chose another solution unless for a very short stay.

I loved staying here. Nice location either walking from the station or taking a street car. Close to the river and lots of fun places to eat. The hostel is clean, friendly staff, nice lounge and an outdoor patio. Great little kitchen with an oven and stove. I was very happy with my experience.

I really like this hostel, the staff there were brilliant and very friendly. I though the location was perfect, the value reasonable and the facilities were good also. My only negative comment is that the shower room was too small. I didn’t need a huge shower room however if it was only slightly bigger that would’ve sufficed. In the wake of that comment the other shower rooms on different floors/areas of the hostel may have been a better size.
