Really pretty square, one of the nicest I've seen in Europe. Don't eat in the restaurants around the square as they're mostly tourist traps (expensive and very average).

Bremen, in the German state of Lower Saxony, is a truly gorgeous and wonderful city. The market square is one of the most beautiful places I visited in Bremen, with historical architectural design. I'm looking forward to returning here.

Main square of the city with many nice historical buildings and tourist attractions - Bremen Musicians sculpture, Town Hall, Cathedral, Roland statue. All buildings are very old and a bit dark, you can almost feel that old atmosphere of the city (almost because of great number of tourists).
It's a very popular place in Bremen - very crowded by tourists. Also, some city events are taking place here.
Trams are going across the square so need to be careful while looking at the buildings.
One more interesting attraction - a special manhole with a hole, after putting there a coin you can hear the voice of one of the Bremen Musicians. It's located near the souvenirs point.

I have been to many cities in Germany, but was surprised by the impressive architecture and diversity of buildings in the old center of Bremen. If I had know that there was this much to see we would have committed more time to wandering in the center of Bremen. Amazing architecture, surprisingly old and well preserved. I really enjoyed my visit to Bremen and hope to return in the daylight and hopefully in the summer!
