I will soon add a German translation. I just had an MRT scan here. I emailed for an appointment and was initially offered an appointment in June, but was offered an earlier appointment due a cancellation. The process to book an the appointment was smooth and the woman I had initial contact with was very helpful.
The MRT was fine, with the staff member doing the scan being polite and competent.
Then comes the problem. Following the MRT scan, I had to wait approximately an hour to receive the CD with the scan. I was waiting with my 13 month old daughter. Bare in mind that she didn't cry the entire time, merely making the standard noises a baby makes. A colleague (I believe it might have been a radiologist) comes out and berates me for my child being too loud and proceeds to tell me to go and wait outside in the foyer because. I ask if I should go home then and come back for the CD because how would I know I am being called if I'm outside and he says that he doesn't care, just that I and the baby cannot stay in the waiting area as she is too noisy. It was humiliating to be spoken to in such a way in a waiting room full of other people.
The irony is, just minutes earlier, I had asked a member of the reception staff whether I could wait in the foyer with my daughter as it was more spacious, and I was told no, that I wouldn't hear my name being called and would miss the chance to discuss with the doctor, so I had to stay in the main reception area.
And in actuality there was no discussion with any doctor, I was simply handed the CD and sent on my way.
As a private patient I am infuriated that I will have to pay for such disrespectful treatment, but regardless of a person's health insurance, it is unacceptable to treat patients in such an insensitive and rude way. Will simply go elsewhere for any future scans. Avoid.
