Excellent location, at the heart of Bonn's old political center - about a 15 minute walk from the old city.
Large rooms facing the main street make for bright rooms. Air conditioning works well and street traffic could not be heard, indoors.
Although a bit dated, the styling of the room was very original and pleasant enough.
The bed was comfortable. The room had enough seating options.
The room included a couch and desk.
Breakfast:
Of all the coffee I have drunk in the world (and I like all kinds of coffee types, styles and strengths) this was the second worst coffee I have ever had in my life. Taste is always subjective. But not in the this case.
I attribute the bad coffee to two possibilities: it was standing too long in the thermos; the thermos lets off side-tastes; the coffee-machine was not clean; or the coffee brand was not good.
Otherwise, the breakfast was average-to-good.
Parking on the other side of the main street is free for the most part and it was rather easy to find a parking space within a 5 minute walk. Street-side parking on the hotel side of the street is not possible after a certain hour.
Service:
Only the waiter in the breakfast room back-talked, when I mentioned the horrid coffee. Otherwise, the personnel was good-to-above-average... and always polite and helpful.
Disclaimer:
My evaluations are based on 35 years of travel experience in over 70 countries. These include all types of accommodation - from 5-stars luxury hotels and no-star hotels to Bu0026Bs, apartments, bungalow lodges, camping grounds other other experiences.
I do not compare unlike accommodations in unlike environments. However, I know the quality and value that one can receive everywhere and my evaluations reflect this.
I am not easy to impress, but do understand the value of making empirical evaluations.
