On top of the hill an awesome view on the Rhein river. two old canons guarding the place and reminding of the old times.built with old rocks from 1815 till 1918 and serve as the old customs place of Bonn.
There's trees and a statue to a german nationalist up there also.
recommended for the view and history lovers.

Alter Zoll am rhein is like a high terrace overlooking the Rhine and Buel on the other side of town. on sunny days it is a magnet for passers-by, tourists but also for a beautiful panoramic photo. Alter Zoll or the Old Customs on English is in Bonn is a former bastion of the Bonn City fortification, also known as the Three Kings . It was built around 1644 and is located on the slope of the Rhine bank on the private property of the University of Bonn as the owner.

Good for a tourist, prices for rooms affordable and positioned almost at the centre of the city. Access to train station. Staffs polite and welcoming

Alter Zoll is a bastion with superb view.
Name recalls the customs house that stood here since the Middle Ages. 2 cannons dating from the time of the Napoleonic Wars are a reminder of this former military use.

I love this place, nice views and really good food, plus great drinks and quite cheap. But I cannot give it more than 2 stars - they STILL don't take card payment, there's only 1 person waiting tables taking orders for over 100 customers (to me that's basically inhuman or just really bad service, and customers get quite upset). The drinks and food are served pretty quick after ordering, but I see just one waiter/waitress carrying about 16 large beer glasses in one go, and it just looks so unfair. They seem to be making a lot of money, they are packed every day, but still, they don't hire more staff for the weekends! Surprising for this place, but not unique to Bonn - many establishments that run like this, sadly.

Great location, staff and menu options. They have their own signature coffee which is a must have and the hummus/vegan breakfast is out of this world. Also their cinnamon rolls are perfectoo with coffee. Location is also great with greenery all around. Definitely one of my favorite places here.
