This place was super cozy in a kitsch sort of way. We were greeted at the door by a nice gentleman who spoke great English (which we appreciate). Table service was very friendly and fast. We had the garlic soup and a lamb dish and a schnitzel. Everything tasted great, but if I pas Bochum again I will be sure to get the schnitzel. Can definitely recommend this place if you are up for traditional German food.

Typical German food in a typical German setting. Service is first rate and it's wise to book since the number of tables is restricted. Food is typical German fare. Delicious and ample. It helps if one speaks some German since some of the staff do not all speak English. The chef is young but knows his art and speaks fluent English as does the female owner. The schnitzel is perfect especially with the mushroom sauce. I recommended dish. It's no bother to modify the order. Staff are very helpful. The pils is excellent and very cold ????.
I unreservedly recommend this establishment.

Really unfriendly to foreign people.
They only accept German card to pay and we didn’t get a receipt.
The waiter yelled at us asking if we had paid.
Never again!

This restaurant has the best Schweinshaxen in NRW and believe me, I've tried Schweinshaxen everywhere. They also have the best prices. They don't rob you blind like other more popular restaurants.

On second thought, maybe I shouldn't recommend this place otherwise next time I go it'd be full.

The first welcome, when we got in, is a bit rough and aggressive. At least this is our impression. A bit long waiting time but the filet steak was great as well as the Beilage.
Unacceptable is the fact that they do not accept credit cards...
