It is a restaurant with really tasty dishes inside a traditional house. The food was so delicious, and it is tipical german cuisine. The waiters are so nice and you can go alone or with your family.

One of the traditonal restaurants in my home town Bochum. Whenever I am im Bochum I enjoy their Schnitzel - it's fantastic.

Food was alright, but the service was very bad, the waiter didn't even look is in the eyes. They also did not give a receipt that contained our orders with induvidial prices.

If it's too much to read, skip to the end ;)

Service: very friendly, there was a soup included for every guest who had a meal. The orders got delivered to is quickly despite the fact, that the restaurant had a lot of guests.
The food: Now, here I was cought off guard. I ordered a Entrecote for the first time. Of course that part of the animal is very high on fat and streaky, but this one was extreme. Also they haven't ask me, how I woul like it and I got it VERY well done. With the knife provided, Wich was everything else than sharp, I had quite some trouble eating it. Now, let's keep in mind that it's an classic German restaurant and we Germany traditionally overcook everything. Some like it that way. The green pepper sauce did taste a lot like they have used additives to make it thicker. It tasted kind of artificial.
Over all, I wasn't to happy about it.
My wife had a duck leg wich also was extremely high on fat. But over all she did like it. The vegetables were great, the soup was very good and my fried potatoes with bacon were really good,too.

So, all of the things I didn't like weren't a question of quality, I guess, but just a question of my own taste. Next time I'll order something I know, so I can give a more objective rating.

Great food and beers. Nice and welcoming staff, with professionalism and a good sence of humor. Rooms are light and cosy, with a 'livingroom'-feel.
I highly recommend a visit to Mutter Wittig if you are in the area.

THE place for traditional food from that area. The mussels are a must if in season. Prices are fair. You might want to make a reservation for peak time visits.
