Very good restaurant, very delicious food (probably because the menu is limited with their very special and famous dishes). Order time is very reasonable. Food is fresh when it served. Not precooked/heated meals. The spices Are well cooked/used. I am not an expert in South African dishes but since I know how many restaurant germanize their food and spices. This one is totally different. I like the colors also the atmosphere of the place. It would have been much better if the place is bigger than it is right now to host more people and events. I would totally recommend the place as I am glad it is very near to where I live so I can go more often.

Very good restaurant, with delicious food and great staff. The atmosphere was chilled, I felt like I was back home. I'm definitely coming back here again.

Fully recommended. Very friendly. Truly South African hospitality. Food is lekker and tastes very original. I will come back for sure

I am a South- African myself and I've been in Europe for the past 5 month and I've been craving and missing S.A.'s food.
When we discovered Howit I was ecstatic! Then staff who work there are unbelievably friendly and welcoming. I have never been so eager to spend money on food, but let me tell you it was 100% worth every penny! I got the Cape Malay Curry + Boerewors Roll + Biltong + Stoney's + and Lay's Chips (Ms. Balls Chutney and Salt and Vinegar).
Their portion sizes are huge and it's easily enough for two people if your willing enough to share.
I will definitely be revisiting Howit VERY soon again in the near future!

Great Customer service!! Please expand the menu.We also had the Howzit version of Nandos Chicken,It was quite flat and not as flavourful as expected.
The decor and vibe was correct :) as we say it back home...giving us a lil Western Cape vibe,good place to catch a local game of football I saw the affiliation with the local team Arminia Bielefeld u0026 we are hoping to catch some Rugby games there too.Musix from Johnny Clegg,Yvonne Chaka Chaka,Chiwoniso Mararire,Black Smith Mambaso,East Africa u0026 North Africa can be heard in the background.Love the concept.The place is easily spotted from afar with the rainbow nation flag painted on the outside walls, bringing colour to that part of Bielefeld.
Will definitely revisit u0026 hope to get some truely South African flavoured meals.
Oh and some of the home btrwed ciders and beets were available,wines and whiskey too! ????

If you are hungry, don't go here.
We waited 96 minutes (more than an hour and half) for our meal.

The food was parly cold and pretty tasteless. Not what you would expect from the southafrican kitchen.

One star is the few sidedishes, that had that slight scent of cinnamon or coriander, that we expected. The other star is for the young entrepreneurs trying - without having a clou about what they are doing... At this pace, they can only sell every seat once pr. night. That won't keep them in business for long.
