I really wanted to like this place — woman-owned, the sweetest server, the cutest atmosphere inside with Sade playing in the background… but the food just wasn’t good. It was also disturbingly expensive for Berlin.

Mussels were tiny, lacked almost any flavor in the broth, did not have enough broth to dip them into, got cold half way through because they weren’t served in a proper deep dish. Razor clams — to our horror — came in with exactly the same topping as mussels, sprinkled with a lot of leeks and celery and what felt like a touch of white wine but certainly not enough butter/oil or something flavorful like garlic. Bland, not grilled enough, and hard to chew on due to all that leek being very hard (old?).

Cold shrimps were good, a bit fishy, with a very nice mayo to pair.

Oysters were ok but too briny and too big.

My favorite dish was the side of potato fries which had a beautiful crust to it while still soft inside and well seasoned.

The bill ended up being well over €100 for an experience that was entirely disappointing.

This might be a good place for an oyster fix but I wouldn’t recommend it for anything else.

One of my favourite restaurants in Berlin, to go for a special occasion - period! Simply Divine French cuisine. The freshest seafood platter, the juiciest snails, the most delicious Champagne u0026 bubbles menu... Unbelievable. To top it of, the most fabulous 80's music soundtrack that makes Volk so endlessly charming. My fiancé u0026 I will be back (again)

I came here on a Sunday afternoon without planning, so it was a nice sunrise when we decided to stop and try some oysters.

The service was very good, the waitress was very attentious and nice to us. The food looked real fresh. Since it was my first time trying seafood I was not expecting it to be so good. Goodbye Japanese food, there's a new sherif in town.

Some oysters, snails and a glass of wine, we had some chocolate mousse to close the day and that was also special.

I really recommend this experience, very unique place in Berlin, with a cosy French atmosphere and a nice view from the Volkpark.

Cute restaurant with a simple setup. Friendly staff and great service. Volk has its charm. But we had to wait for our seafood platter for more than one hour which is a little too long. Love it anyway, we will be back again for our next visit to Berlin.

Nice Little seafood place. Delicious Oyster variety and well done lobster. Very nice wine recommendation to match the cheese selection! I enjoyed that everything in this place is a bit rough around the edges but highly personal and authentic.

Nice oyster selection with affordable price! I mean you can't get these selection in any other restaurants in BERLIN! :)
Really Great service u0026 nice ambiance are double plus.
But maybe would be great to have wine menus around 20~25 Euro.

I never would have thought to get fresh and tasty oysters here in Berlin. VOLK proved that you can!
Next to fresh and delicious sea food VOLK offers a very nice selection of good wine and friendly service.
I am looking forward to our next visit.
