My wife and I stayed here whilst visiting our daughter and her partner. We were met on arrival by Max u0026 Enrico who showed us around and made us feel very welcome.

Our room was located on the ground floor across a small quaint courtyard. There are two rooms with a shared toilet/shower which is secure from the rest of the hostel. Ours was a large room with a very comfortable bed.

The kitchen was in the main house. We only made coffee/tea but there were facilities for cooking etc. A large fridge has boxes for each room/dormitory to store you own bits and pieces.

After being shown around, Max told us about the area and where was good to shop, eat, drink and visit. He provided us with a map and lent us a guide book for the duration of our stay. He also gave us a brief history of the area.

It’s close to the canal where we visited a flea market on the Sunday. It certainly has an upcoming feeling about the area. My wife said it was very Bohemian.

We thoroughly recommend the hostel.

It is one of the best Hostels I've ever stayed at!
Curtains in front of every bed in the dorm, so you get privacy if you want it. The dorm is really big and with just 6 beds it is spacious enough even if everyone is at home.
The beds are comfortable. You get a lamp and a socket right next to your bed (yes even in the top bunks) Talking about bunks, there are no real bunk beds. These are made from wood with space next to the top bunk to place your stuff for the night (smartphone, some clothes, books....) lockers for everyone. No wobbling beds during the night. Really great!!
The guys can tell you great places to get something to eat, to spend your time, to have a party night,...
I definitely recommend this place if you're in Berlin.

So they're good. If you don't speak german and you need a place to stay for a while they might be willing to rent to you on a monthly basis. Their English hostelworld page says the age limit is 40, but it's actually 35 unless you get a private room. They're small enough you might get to know the people there, but if the others are there in a group you might have trouble getting to know people and going out. There is no hot tub. The owners are really helpful.

My husband and I stayed in a private room next to the kitchen -- the bed was so squeaky and the mattress was so soft that neither one of us could sleep and everytime we moved or changed position we woke each other up. Also, only one thin comforter was provided despite the cold temperatures outside, which means we were never warm enough at night and had to sleep fully dressed.

There was no toilet paper in the bathroom next to our room for two out of the three days we stayed there, and no stock of toilet paper anywhere to be found. We had to borrow toilet paper from the bathroom connected to the dorm rooms.

The shower behind the kitchen was out of order.

There is no sound insulation between the bedroom and the kitchen and unfortunately the other hostel guests stayed up late talking. We asked them to be quiet, but they continued talking loudly until 5am, which meant an even worse night's sleep.

Even though the rooms are big, I do not recommend this hostel for couples or people who want a minimum of comfort.
