Der U-Bahnhof war zu DDR Zeiten Endbahnhof auf der A Linie. Heutzutage fährt der Zug auf der U2 weiter bis Pankow wo man Anschluss hat zur S-Bahn und ebenfalls zur Straßenbahn sowie zum Bus. Auf dem Bahnhof kommt man über mehrere Treppen und für Rollstuhlfahrer bzw für Kinderwagen gibt es einen Fahrstuhl. Im Zwischengeschoss befindet sich ein Blumenladen mit einem relativ großzügigen Angebot sowie ein EC-Automat der Berliner Sparkasse. Tickets, Fahrkarten und mehr erhaltet ihr am Automat direkt auf dem Bahnhof. Man kann an diesem Automaten in bar bezahlen bzw mit EC-Karte. Für Touristen immer wieder interessant "falls Fragen sind" gibt es auf dem Bahnhof eine Infosäule wo sich nach dem Drücken der Info Taste sich innerhalb von 30 Sekunden ein Mitarbeiter der BVG meldet und eure Fragen beantwortet. Für den kleinen Hunger zwischendurch gibt es auf dem U-Bahnhof sowie oben an den Straßenbahnhaltestellen Snackautomaten. Der Bahnsteig selbst macht einen relativ sauberen Eindruck und es gibt genügend Sitzplätze. Wer diesen Bahnhof noch von früher kennt der weiß genau dass baut wo man das alte Stellwerk war sich nun der Fahrstuhl befindet. Dieser wird von den Mitarbeitern immer wieder gewartet so dass er ständig betriebsbereit ist. Zur Sicherheit wird dieser Bahnhof mit mehreren Kameras überwacht und im Notfall könnt ihr auch über die Infosäule einen sos ruf absenden. Natürlich gibt es auch hier wie auf vielen anderen U-Bahnhöfen WLAN, der Empfang im Bahnhofsbereich ist ja gut wenn man natürlich im Zug einsteigt dann lässt sie sah etwas nach bzw im Tunnel ist der Empfang mit WLAN dann ganz verschwunden. Aber ich denke mal dass es vollkommen ausreichend ist wenn man auf dem Bahnsteig selbst WLAN hat um sich gegebenenfalls Informationen über sein Handy oder Tablet auszusuchen. Danke BVG
