Fantastic meat for us meat lovers. A wine list with all the goodies. Drinks are superb - try the "Old Cuban" accompanied by a cigar from their broad selection

Randomly ended up here last week as me and my partner sought somewhere to eat!
Very glad we found it, enjoyable food with a great service and classic feel.
The restaurant Decor was very classic and it felt almost strange to hear subtle house music playing whilst we dined (luckily I adore house music!)
The food was excellent, we skipped starters as we didn’t feel anything really appealed but our steaks were immaculately cooked and we both liked that they added a little rock salt to the meat. The accompaniments were all delicious and cocktails very pleasant too.
If you’re looking for an upmarket bistro/classic feel then you’d struggle to find better. Great stuff.

The Grand in Berlin is an address for good steak, but even more a place to feel culinary well in every way.
The restaurant is located near Alexanderplatz and opens at 7PM. You can indulge yourself at the bar with many impressive cocktails, as well as mocktails before your dinner.
From the outside, the building of The Grand shows rather restrained, only the two entrances, one to the restaurant, the other to the bar. This may be due to the historical preservation of the school building from 1842 or just understatement - in any case this is more appealing than a brewery sponsored neon sign - Subtle lighting accents on the left entrance and a gold sign told us that we had found The Grand.
During our entire stay we got an outstanding service. We did not perceive this as intrusive or disturbing, but as a steady and courteous accompaniment. Thank you for the great service - we thoroughly enjoyed it.
The entrees were consistently delicious, as well as visual high lights, which showed the care and professionalism with which they were prepared.
A real dream was the extremely mild goat cheese on a slice of grilled watermelon, garnished with fresh lamb's lettuce with a hazelnut-carrot dressing and thyme honey - this starter was a real hightlight - my compliment. The combination of textures was a great and unique treat.
Our second appetizer was The Grand Caesar Salad, consisting of romaine lettuce, tomato crostini, bacon croutons, parmesan a wonderful Caesars dressing with a sprinkling of anchovies salted, served with half a lobster.
The salad was very fresh and crisp, the dressing balanced and not intrusive, the Parmesan impressed and the lobster was cooked to the point. So this starter was of special quality and craftsmanship and thereby with almost 30 euros absolutely in the price range.
For the main course, the choice fell to the Porterhouse (US BEEF) from the outdoor enclosure, according to the map "Corn Feeding" and therefore with pronounced marbling and a deep, harmonious taste. The meat had dried for six weeks and the slice came with a weight of 1200g.
The Porterhouse has both back and fillet - visually resembles the T-bone and is grilled in the Grand on the bone. After grilling the meat is given sufficient time to rest, so that the meat juice does not leak when it is carved. For this steak you have to invest 129 euros at The Grand.
The Porterhouse was delicious and certainly of high quality, but the grill taste by enough roasted aromas could have been much more intense and the temperature of the steak may be significantly higher. After the overwhelming impression left by the entrees, the steak was not really that special - a different dish from The Grand would certainly have been the better choice for us.
For the Grand we can make a very clear recommendation. The atmosphere of this location, the good service and the fine food invite you to linger. We will certainly stop there again to try a few more dishes. In our opinion a must for every guest is the goat cheese on grilled melon.
The prices are justified in the offered quality of the food in any case, whether it must be a steak, everyone must decide for themselves. Our choice for the next time will surely be more refined dishes such as be the venison on the menu.

Excellent meat! Food was delicious. Amazing drinks, try the Grand Mule. But, they where understaffed when we visited, didn't get good service. Our waiter was stressed and tried, but had no chance in his job.

It's a great place with a history and image of being the grand Westin. The staff are friendly, the rooms are comfortable and is equipped with desired accessories.
