Really great Museum which is very well preserved. The Minister’s rooms are fascinating to see and the history of the events around this era are very well explained. There is a lot of text. I think the audioguide is probably a good idea because it’s very small and can be difficult to read when crowded.

I’m not sure exactly how to rate this museum. I learn a lot and it was both informative and entertaining (I’m a morbid way) but I think it could be done better. The flow through the building wasn’t in any proper order and it was a bit confusing. However, i still highly recommend a visit.

you cannot leave Berlin without visiting this very interesting museum. the museum is located in the original Stasi building, with original rooms and furniture. I advise you not to visit it without the audio guide (only two euros, with the possibility of connecting your earphones) you will need an hour and a half to see, photograph and listen to the whole story.

What can I say... I'm not the biggest fan of history, but my husband is... He is crazy for DDR and it was must see on the list. But when you enter.. You realize that really in this building it was happening! Great feeling. And for fans of serie Deutschland 83'... Yes they were filming it there ❤️

A very interesting museum about the functioning of Ministry of State security before the unification of Germany. The building was occupied by the protesters and converted into the museum. It shows how the state security department functioned and tools used by them. Gives great insight.

Interesting to hear and see all the pervasive methods of surveillance used by MfS, and crazy to think it all kept on happening all the way into the 80s. A great collection and well worth a visit.

I found this museum engrossing. Spent near 3 hours at it and it would have been longer but for closing time. The building itself is an exhibit in its own story. There's a lot to read (personally I really like that) and a lot to see. There are audio guides as well, although I didn't use one. This museum is not a gentle place to visit. It explores how one abusive regime replaced another; it explores the worst ways a State can operate against its own citizens. And for this reason it is important.
