Sixt Car Rental

Traveling from the US to Germany. I chose Sixt over more familiar brands such as Hertz and Enterprise even though I have gold membership with these rental agencies. I simply did not want to take a risk during my vacation after reading all the horror stories on Google Maps.

The lady at Sixt (TXL location) was extremely pleasant to deal with. She never once pressured me to purchase any add-ons and I truly felt she wanted to get me exactly what was best for my needs. My originally plan was to get a BMW M2 for a road trip to a few countries surrounding Germany. The lady informed me that I won’t be able to take the M2 since that car can’t be driven into Czech Republic so she helped me find a BMW 320i x drive estate, which was perfect for the trip. It was nowhere as fast but it sure was practical. So be sure to keep in mind what countries you’ll be taking the car to when reserving a car.

The car was in excellent condition that no cars I’ve ever rented in the US had ever come close. The 320i I got was in tip top shape!

I will definitely go with Sixt again next time.

Bad, bad service!!!! cannot care customer problem with car. bad customer Care department. They give you car empty and ask to add not only fuel but other parts, which should be added in Service. After ask you to pay for their incompetence! Frechheit!!!!

It was perhaps the most pleasant Sixt experience I have ever had. The branch manager was very enthusiastic and helpful, and walked through the various cars they had on offer that particular day. Instead of just giving me the car I had reserved for, he went the extra mile to show me what else I could get (including giving me a rundown on each car). Was very happy with the experience!

Great, fast, efficient service. The best - when renting in Berlin, no need for special letters from my credit card company confirming insurance coverage, which are required by other vendors. My first choice in Europe. Many years of being a happy customer, even when there were issues with my rental and a replacement needed to be provided in Poland.

- Had to wait an hour and a half before being able to pick up my rental even though it was booked in advance and I was at the agency on the time of the booking
- Car choice was questioned by the Sixt agent on the ground with inappropriate questioning on driving experience (“are you sure that you need a station wagon? What kind of car of car do you drive at home?”)
- No joint inspection of the car before start of the rental
- No explanation as to how to install the car seat I reserved for my seven months old baby
- I had to ask to clean the car myself with disinfectant as the Sixt employee who delivered it was neither wearing a surgical mask nor gloves
- I was given no rental contract for the whole duration of my rental (so no insurance coverage for nine days of rental) with Sixt demanding this to be created - including the payment of the safety deposit - after the end of my rental

One of the largest car rental service providers in Germany. Staff were nice and helpful. Will definitely use Sixt next time when we visit Europe / Germany. They provide plenty of car model choices with reasonable price. Prices are even lower if booked early enough.

The agent was very helpful. He didn’t try to upsize us but rather explained clearly how a different car would end up saving us money (diesel vs gas) and be a better fit for our family. So glad he did! Thanks.
