Delighted to be back at the Shakespeare Company after a long time and to witness the new atmospheric architecture reminiscent of The Globe! The cast was extremely versatile and mesmerising to watch, I could feel their love for acting throughout the entire performance and really enjoyed the use of live music/instruments and overall ambient storytelling in between or in addition to the dialogue.

Went to see a staging of Othello and after seeking out quite a few stagings throughout Berlin and Potsdam over the last ten years I am definitely counting this one among my favourites. Othello feels in many ways complex as it feels simple in others but it remains a big challenge to bring to life on stage, regardless of how much time passes. The Shakespeare Company handled this one seemingly with ease, they managed to perfectly balance the play between the classic and the modern, with welcome and relevant additions and tweaks and the most beautiful German adaptation of the Willow Song with all its tragically melancholic grace. There's usually always a part in Othello that drags on a little, but not in this staging - this Othello was compact and focused and a joy to watch from start to finish (as much of a "joy" as the plot of Othello can be). The cast was so well balanced in their play too, not a single actress or actor fell short. Hope to come back soon for another love letter to Shakespeare's work :)

Nice Shakespearean feel to the construction of this Globe shaped theatre. Watched a very talented troupe of thespians Viel Lärm Um Nichts, an adapted German language play based on Much Ado About Nothing.

Beautiful small theater in the middle of Berlin in the Südgelände park. Cozy atmosphere for the evening performances. We went to a poetry slam. Prices are a little high. But it's worth the experience!

Fantastic actors and a fresh take on Shakespeare, the theatre area is quite small but the experience is great. The plays are in German, and the language used is sometimes difficult to understand, as Shakespeare usually is. But even if your German is not up to a high level it is entertaining enough to just watch and listen. A great experience for a warm summer night.

Tough a bit expensive it was an awesome experience. They creatively interpret famous Shakespeare plays.
Since it’s an open air theatre there is full exposure to weather conditions. When we went there during the end of the play the heavy rain started. The actors then motivated the audience to come on stage (which was protected) and continued playing amongst the audience. Truly amazing.

Open air theater with a broad repertoire of Shakespeare's works. Nice setting within a park, enthusiastic actors.
