Nice if you can get a lake side room, else is a bit normal. Staff were not interested when I asked for a double bed room ... Location is lovely, just wish customer satisfaction was higher up on the priority. Suspect staff are genuinely nice people, just don't get paid enough to really care.

We were looking for a relatively cheap hotel in the neighborhood of Berlin for a course that my wife had to do on a Sunday. The hotel that we found was Seehotel Grunewald. The price was quite low, so we expected a moderate hotel, but we got much more than what we paid for. The location is really amazing! it's in the middle of a beautiful park with some nice beaches at walking distance of the hotel. The personel was very friendly too. We arrived a bit late due to traffic, so the kitchen was already closed. But it was no problem for them to make a small portion for our one-year-old daughter.
Overall we had a very nice stay and we would definitely choose this hotel again if we go back to Berlin some day!
Also, if you're a cycling fanatic, this is a beautiful place to go cycling with some decent hills to climb :-)

We stayed in a family room, so double bed and single bed, there was even a sofa bed for two more people. The room was spacious, and once we opened the windows it was more comfy. But very still and warm in June! Fans would be helpful. The bathroom was tiny, with a very small shower tray. We arrived around 345Pm, and the bikes for hire were already locked up. But we walked nearby to a small silty beach and swam. There are paddle boats available from the hotel, which are free, and that was lovely. We asked in advance about dinner, and they luckily gave us a voucher, otherwise the dinner buffet was sold out later. The buffet is cold, with a soup. Cold pasta, cold cuts, a simple berry compote. The only a la carte food was a fresh flan, which was delicious and light. The hotel restaurant has a lovely terrace overlooking the lake, where the bar is open till 11 pm. Breakfast was continental style, with scrambled eggs, bread rolls, fruit, cereals, cheese. We rented a bike the next morning, after checking out at ten am, and swam. A lovely night out away from Berlin, the Grunewald forest is beautiful, with walks, biking, swimming. Great for families.

I can only rate the hotel's restaurant after a day at the nearby beach. The view from the restaurant terrace is phenomenal! Right by the water! The food quality is not superb but OK. Prices are very reasonable though.
"Kaffee und Kuchen" (german coffee time) is nice and good selection. The staff is friendly but sometimes stressed up. Two waiters were talking about another guest not very nicely while taking my order. So I could understand every word. This was not very professional. Overall OK and fantastic view.

Located near the water you can sit outside whike eating. The staff seems to be really professional and is quite friendly. The food is tasty and not as expensive as one would think at such a beautiful place. I can only review the restaurant part since i did not spend a night here.

Small hotel in the Grunewald forest directly on the river Havel. You can reach Berlin city by bus. There's also a restaurant and cafe where you can sit outside near the water.
