Lovely pieces! A small museum, but yet packed with good collection to appreciate.

The art is nice but the employees are the rudest people I have ever dealt with in a museum. From speaking derogatory to another employee in front of me, to bossing me around and insisting on how I should view the exhibit, to not letting me see part of that exhibit when there were still 15 minutes left before closing time, and then kicking us out of the gift shop (when we were looking to buy something!) I am horrified and disgusted that this is the experience you get for 12€. Also, the Picasso and Russeau are missing from the collection and there is only one small Dali piece.

Very nice collection with surrealist and symbolist drawings and paintings. Many works from Paul Klee and Max Ernst. Very well organized.

I really liked how the paintings (and so on) where presented and I would really recommend this to visit, if one likes art but doesn't brings that much time!

Lovely building, with its pendant on the opposite corner (Museum Bergruen), housing a charming modern collection and the even more charming Kalabsha Gate from Ancient Egypt, which never found its way back to the Egyptian collection. Thank God, as it looks fascinating amidst the modern works of art.

This museum is one of the smallest of dozen of world famous museums in Berlin. But the exhibition is so special and exciting only about the handful of decades of the Surrealism in the 20th century, that this is not common to the mainstream of galleries and museums in the world. But the exhibition rooms itself is amazing architecture and together with the nice shop and restaurant it will make your visit full of fun and happiness. For all the visitors who are not so interested in the special Surrealism there is another very fine and exciting museum, just on the opposite site of the street: the Bergengruen collection ... or the Schloss Charlottenburg which has also a very famous picture gallery of Romanticism, you will enjoy also the beautiful landscape architecture around the castle ... all is to much for one weekend. Enjoy it more times!

The special exhibition is quite good, and the Egyptian pieces still stored here are interesting. I don’t think it’s worth a trip not in combination with Bergruen.
