This was the greatest hospital care and support I could have ever imagined receiving for my first pregnancy. Every member of the hospital staff we met - between the pre-birth appointments, during the delivery period, and the recovery period after birth - was truly the kindest, warmest, friendliest person. All the doctors, midwifes, nurses, even down to the staff who handled meal service and cleaning were the utmost professional, competent, genuine caring person. You could tell that they all enjoy working there very much, creating a very happy environment for the patients. I really loved my birthing experience here, I wouldn’t change a thing. The hospital also has a beautiful garden on the grounds to walk around in and pass the time while you wait.

Awful care for patients. They just want patient over 80 years old to die. They didn’t care to take a chest Xray for a pneumonia patient just because they are in business for the money not for saving lives! Covid has become the excuse for being rude, careless and negligent!

I had a traumatic birth experience here in 2020 which could have been prevented. They couldn’t place a epidural correctly. Failed several times, then tried to convince me it was working when i could clearly feel it wasn’t doing anything. (Which also made me wonder why they had to call in an anaesthetist AFTER delivery to put me under general anaesthesia, because with a properly placed epidural they could have done the damage repair by just topping up the epidural.) The anästhesist was clearly angered by the situation and scolded the nurses and doctors in front of me. I had a hyper-reaction to the induction medicine they administered and asked them to rather proceed to a C-section as i went into a hyper contrastive state, but they refused as the baby’s heart rate was normal and that was the only thing they cared about. The nurses were unfriendly, (all but one). One even told me i am not trying hard enough. I wasn’t allowed to choose my own birthing positions which felt more comfortable and when i asked them to stop doing certain things I was ignored, making it feel more like an assault. Before I agreed to take the induction gel i had also asked about the possible side effects, but the person who i spoke to dismisses me and said i mustn’t think of these things and wouldn’t tell me. Yet, they were happy to tell me about all the possible side effects of not taking the medicine.

My mother received intensive care here after an accident, and she sadly passed away here. All the staff we met were extremely professional, friendly and helpful. Especially the anaesthetist in intensive care, Dr. Kemps, was very kind, patient and informative as he took the time to answer all of our questions.
My sister and I were allowed to see my Mom every day, even outside normal visiting hours (this is only possible with intensive care patients).
I also once witnessed a lovely lady at reception giving leftover sandwiches from the hospital kitchen to a homeless man who had wandered in.
If you are looking for a hospital where you are treated like a human being and not a number, I would highly recommend Sankt Gertrauden.

Hospital is rarely a nice time but the staff here is amazing, sweet, helpful and attentive.

I was staying in the otolaryngology department of this hospital for three days and received good and competent treatment. The doctors and other staff were really nice and treated me well. They had a lot of patients, but, still they were able to find time to speak to me personally and help me. The room and the bed were clean, the food was quite decent for a hospital.

When I came to the hospital, the waiting time for the initial consultation was around 2 hours. Since there were a lot of other patients, especially some with more severe injuries than me, that was explainable. I glad that I was able to recover in the hospital, thanks to the people working there!
