A beauitful city hall that fill with witg history. If you have the chance to visit, don' forget to check out the Paternoster lift inside, just be careful when snaping some pictures for memories.

It also holds a flea market at the weekend, and there is a lovely park next to the city hall, great to have a walk there.

Its a true 'Trödelmarkt', stuff from the 'Sperrmüll' or someone's cellar, how do we say, " ones garbage is the other ones treasure". The shoe fits here. If you need a spare part for your Altbau or old elektronic, or some china, books (!), vinyl, and did I say 'stuff', yes that the place to come here for. Friendly folks and don't expect a bargain deal without negotiation. You must negotiate!!! Check the pics and yes here on 26th of June, 1963 JF Kennedy did say "Ich bin ein Berliner".

We had our wedding here in June, was an amazing setting inside the Standesamt, and there's also a park right next to it that's great for pictures.

While me and my wife both found the process of getting the papers and everything quite challenging, the communication from this Standesamt around the appointment and process was really clear and easy to understand.

I also loved the lady that was officiating the ceremony, she quoted a lovely German poem and made it feel really special for us.

Want to thank the Standesamt for a very special day!

Easily the friendliest Burgeramt in Berlin. The fact that so many staff speak English and are genuinely helpful makes a huge difference.

Had my Anmeldung here recently, and my experience was good.

The building itself is very beautiful and clean, and you will know its the Bürgeramt immediately. Due to the pandemic, they try to limit the amount of people entering the building itself. As i arrived early, I had to wait outside before being let in, which is understandable.

The people I encountered were all pleasant, and I tried my best to understand what they were saying in Deutsch. Luckily there weren't any difficult questions for me. I also had to wait up to maybe 10 minutes past my appointment time before my number was called. The lady who processed my Anmeldung was really nice and patient, and the guy ushering people inside the waiting area did speak to me in English, but I'm not sure if the others could (I also never asked).

Thankfully a good experience overall.

Such a good experience - there was a member of staff/security who was helpful and polite, he checked our appointment number and confirmed that we were in the right place. The building is huge so it’s quite overwhelming and it was nice to have the confirmation. The waiting room was very full - obviously a popular Bürgeramt, so our appointment ran 15 minutes late. The lady who processed our application was Ausgebildet (newly qualified) and so friendly, pleasant and helpful and patient with my bad German. I can only recommend this Bürgeramt.
