As someone who comes from a Russian/Ukrainian background, I can tell you that this cafe/restaurant offers authentic, low budget food. It’s not one of those pompous, overpriced Russian restaurants one may come across in Berlin, but rather a laid back cafe with a simple but tasty menu. I’ve tried their Borscht, Salo (speck), Wareniki and Blini - everything was prepared the way I was used to, i.e. my mom’s cooking. The hostess/waitress was very nice and respectful, no complaints whatsoever.

I'm from Ukraine, so I know how Ukrainian cuisine should look and taste. I was a bit disappointed when I ordered varenyky with cheese, but got something like ravioli instead. Varenyky have another form and more filling. Also, the dish looked differently as in pictures of the restaurant. I was also dissatisfied with prices. It's rather expensive for such simple dishes and small range. I hope that owners will take these remarks into account as this restaurant represents Ukraine

Wonderful experience at Odessa Mama. Trust me if you are hungry just go there you will love it.

Never heard something great about eastern Europe cuisine. I just tried it out and was overwhelmed with how tasty everything was.

Just don't forget to reserve because they are often booked. You can thank me later ????.

I opened it for myself 3 years ago. Place is great and food is delicious. Owners always recommend to reserve in advance even though most times I came in it wasn't very busy. Well, I guess everyone has their own rules. Over past 3 years I tried pretty much most of the dishes they have. Personally, I really like how the marinade vegetables and love their mustard (typically comes with lard, pelmeni, and sausages). From the main entries I like the most Kiev style Kotleta, however keep in mind that would be the entry that is the longest to cook. I also love their borsch, it's very similar to what my grandmother makes in Ukraine. Over the time place moved from mid-range-pricing to high (imho), most likely due to corona crisis. Thing that I miss the most, large portions of borsch, they used to have small and large entries for the soups in the past, and currently only the small one is available. Definitely recommend this place for the small groups, especially if you take some horilka (ukrainian vodka) shots with lard, garlic and black bread as appetizer :P

We came with Ukrainians and were turned away because of a party. No problem. Enjoy! A Ukrainian with us had a (woman) emergency and spoke to the girl working at the casa who told her that we just had traveled over an hour to get there, she still said that we couldn’t even use the toilet. She said that we could walk across the road to park and use the toilet with a bunch of homeless.

Good Russian food, especially happy to see 4 good fish dishes, tasty and good size portions, excellent value, friendly, space to sit outside. Gave 3 stars as near a main road, and not fancy or overly special, but would recommend
