This was by far the most interesting cocktail bar we visited in Berlin. We stopped in here two different times, once in the early evening and once just after midnight. This place has one of the most interesting drink menus in the city: the Kimchi Margarita with fermented kimchi juice was funky and bright (not an ingredient I would ever expect to work in a summertime Margarita); the Matcha Pineapple was the perfect balance of green tea and fruit for easy drinking; the Smoky Beet paired earthy Mezcal with beet juice in an interesting and easily crushable combination. We spent over two hours here each time, lazily drinking the menu because of all the interesting concoctions (and there’s a lot!).
This bar is thoughtfully designed: outdoor seating, nooks and crannies for small groups, and plenty of seats along the bar if you’re interested in watching their creations be assembled. The staff is extremely engaging and incredibly knowledgeable about spirits and cocktails — they love to talk about all the work that goes in their drinks. We loved hearing about how they came up with some of their drink designs and what they had in store for upcoming menus (and also loved hearing the owner’s story about making it to Berlin!).
I would recommend this bar to any cocktail lover (though they have a selection of beer and wine as well). Definitely put bar on your list — I would not be surprised to see this in a future cocktail guide, as it certainly already belongs on the best of Berlin! The hospitality, quality of drinks, and banter is the absolute best, we will ABSOLUTELY be back the next time we are in town.
