Motion*s is certainly the most divers and most welcoming dance school in Berlin with one of the broadest offers in classes and styles. However, I’m sad that the standard and quality of many courses have dropped quite a bit in the last year or so. Where there were high-profile instructors, often well established masters of their styles, there are now a lot of twenty-somethings teaching classes, who just don’t bring the same level of expertise and teaching quality (especially if you yourself are not a teenager anymore). In the last two years I saw at least 4-5 great instructors leave. Merely the Jazz and Ballet classes have stayed relatively consistent. Unfortunately those have also fallen prey to the “USC-syndrome”, though. Because of providers like Urban Sports Club there is so much rotation and random drop-ins that instructors seem often forced to lower the level and explain everything from the basis, especially in the beginner and intermediate classes, which is super frustrating and hindering for the regular students.
I hope this will improve again and the school will shift its focus back on experienced, adept instructors, so all the dancers above 25 feel comfortable too

All in all it’s not bad, but...

From time to time they cancelled class without notice. Happened 3 times to me already. One time is compensated, one is only with a sorry, the other was a shrug. It’s annoying because they don’t even understand the time away that you already spend to get to and from the studio. Bad comm.

Added/edited due to owner's comment:
Which classes: 2 vogue classes, one earlier this year and one last week.
One ballet class that they failed to communicate that one definitely need to pre-register beforehand, otherwise not happening even when you queued for 30 minutes just to get to the front desk.

Great classes with warm atmosphere ???? Good location with the studio. Easy to dorp-in or go regulary. Teaching often in English. A lot of classes for adults. Open levels vary a lot, so you’ll find out the level by just trying. Overall, can only recommend!

I bought a 10.er Karte just before the Corona crisis hit! But no matter, the show still went on, this time in our own homes via the Zoom application. A fantastic experience for everyone concerned, as most of us were operating out of our comfort zone, but the tutors remained just as professional and responsive as in the live studio situation and have proven more responsive to such online media than in many other areas of life. (Schoolteachers could learn a lot from this!) The online classes, one week flat-rate of 32 Euros gave me access to 15 different classes, i.e. 15 different genres. What an amazing way to acquaint yourself with the styles/teachers and then choose the best one for you for when things return to normal. Beginners should be encouraged to try this approach, as it will remove the rather normal barrier of shyness and fear of humiliation/failure/judgment. On that note, you shouldn't be attending at all, if you are worried about such things. If you don't fail, you don't learn. Don't go in with any preconceptions and you won't go out disappointed. Each time you will have learned a new skill, technique and little nuggets of information that someone has spent their lifetime acquiring... Enter with an open heart, turn the current negative situation into a positive one... and most important of all, enjoy!!

Waste of time sorry :/ in the 2 times i booked a class, they changed the teacher without giving notice. Also in the 2 times, the teacher is not teaching us anything, she’s basically just dancing so that we can follow.

the dance celebration in Berlin! Reminds me of Pineapple in London. Very friendly and easy going ambience, reasonable prices very interesting schedule and amazing teachers ❤️ The perfect place to enjoy dancing, especially for dance-lovers-non-professional .

Great dance studio! The first class you do is only 5 Euros, really worth checking out. Diverse range of classes. The voguing class is wicked!
