Terrible experience, won't come again.
Let me start by saying that the ambiance was nice. You can clearly see that a lot of effort was put into it.
The service was also kind, although they were not able to speak English at all.
The food was ok-ish. Definitely overpriced. We got a menu with starters (which were most likely the best part), 3 pieces of meat (good but really hard to chew), side dish absent and dessert that was meh. Total for 2: 76 euro.
The real problem here was the management.
We booked on the Fork with the Yums loyalty program, which they accepted (see attached screenshot). We were entitled of a 50€ discount on the total amount.
Once we had to pay, the drama started:
1. They refused to accept this in any form, mentioning they were not aware of the promotion.
2. They refused to even acknowledge the mistake on their own Fork page. They refused to check our phones or emails in any form.
3. They kept on blaming us over and over in front of the rest of the restaurant, with obvious embarrassment for both us and the other guests.
4. They essentially blocked us in the restaurant for extra 40' minutes, without even having the decency of offering free water or anything for compensating the wasted time.
5. They demanded cash payment and mentioned that neither Credit Card nor EC Karte were accepted. I find this crazy given the target audience and the location of this place.
6. They refused any talk. We were close to call the police as they refused to let us go.
Luckily we managed to get in touch with an Account Manager at The Fork which explained them that we were right. We managed to pay what was due
The worst part was the manager shouting "we don't want this kind of people, we don't want people eating for free here" at TheFork account manager in the middle of the restaurant.
I can understand that thry could have had a misunderstanding with The Fork. But there are way more professional way to handle this. I won't be coming back after whatever I said was essentially ignored and refused.
It's sad as the restaurant has a lot of potential, but the management is so rude and destroys the whole experience.
