A very pleasant restaurant with a bit of history.
The service was good, and the staff were kind and hospitable. We ordered a fish dish and a Schnitzel, we’ll happily come again next time.
Near the staircase you may notice some old pictures of Märkisches Ufer when there was a bridge over the Spree next to Jannowitzbrücke.

The restaurant has a very interesting decor it is actually like a ship and thats quite original. We had a big group and were sat very quickly and the staff was very nice and patient. The food was also very good and they had 750 ml beer which was very cool! Recommend.

First thing first, food was above average in taste, I will not say it was good/great though I will go back to hotel to check Dorado as my colleague told me they taste awesome. Service is okay, you have to wait for some time but due to the good ambience it's compensated.
Now some points to note,
1. DON'T GO here if you DO NOT speak German as the lady who serves does not speak English at all.
2. Cards are accepted only if your bill goes above €20 otherwise you have to pay by cash only.

Me and my family were on a trip to Berlin and wanted to taste some traditional German food nearby our hotel. On Monday 31.05.2022 at 15:15 we arrived to Marinehaus Restaurant, as we saw it had a decent reating in Google. We ordered our food rigth away (beer, soups and main course). Beer and soups came after around 10 Minutes. Up to that point all was normal. Then we had to wait for our main course one hour and fifteen Minutes, even when the Restaurant had just oppened (they opened at 15:00 on that Monday) and there was only one more table with two people apart from us. I couldn’t undertstand what took it so long and we almost left, but we gave a last warning to the lady and she went back to the kitchen and apparently speeded up things.
I ordered a Schnitzel with Ei on top of it, I started to eat everything seems fine and tasty until I made the last bit of the yellow of the egg, which tasted a little bit funny, but I didnt pay attention and finished up.

Turns out that this same night I started to feel a bad stomach ache and couldnt eat anyting else that day. Next day I woke up with my head turning around and a very bad stomach ache. We were leaving from Berlin to Garmisch-Partenkirchen by train and I barely could walk, I was extremely tired, I coulndt eat anything and the train trip was so unbearable that finally I couldn’t hold it any more and I trew up reaching Garmisch. Today is June the 3rd and I am still on my last day of my trip and to be honest, I has not got any better, I still have diarrea and can barely eat dry bread and water without visiting the toilet. You might imagine, how miserable was my holidays traveling through Bavaria without drinking a single beer.

Tomorrow I will be going back to Hamburg where I live, go to the doctor and hope that I didnt get any kind of super bacteria or something worst.

After a hectic week my wife and I stopped at Marinehaus for dinner. We sat outside and had ice cold beer while watching brightly lit boats float up and down the Spree. A bit further away we could see an elevated train racing into downtown Berlin and we talked about all the Berliners rushing home to their loved ones.

We both ordered a German dish called Haxenpfanne, which is a fried pork leg with sauerkraut, a wild garlic dumpling and some other sides. The leg looked a bit dry but oh... my.... god. The dry part was crackly skin and the pork underneath was tender and juice. We were both kind of blown away by how good it was.

Last night we went back. My wife said she had been craving the pork dish and she said the Haxenpfanne was just as good this time! I wanted to try something different so I ordered the Schnitzel. It was the BEST schnitzel I've ever eaten.

We both ordered apple streudel for dessert and our orders included whipped cream, some kind of nut brittle (as a garnish), a tiny cookie, and vanilla ice cream.

Surely this unassuming little restaurant can't be good at everything, right? I expected the dessert to be average, but NOPE. Not only was it the best apple streusel I've ever had, I took a bite of the nut brittle and looked at my wife with a "what the hell is happening???" expression on my face. It was the best nut brittle I've ever tasted, and she agreed. Even the tiny cookie was amazing.

Now that we are living in Berlint this is definitely going to be "our place", and we're looking forward to many more amazing meals here.

Got rejected as soon as we walked in because they claimed it was a “full house” yet the entire restaurant was empty. Don’t want to assume anything but seems like the demographic they serve there are just locals.

If you’re not German, you won’t be served at this place. Don’t waste your money or time here
