Staff were very friendly however, as we were given our room key we were casually told we were on the 4th floor and that the lift was out of service. Surely this should have been said in advance. Rooms are absolutely standard with no air conditioning. It served it's purpose as we were in and out of Berlin but I can't recommend it.

I found the most-nostalgic-for-the-Soviet-era hotel in Berlin: the one pillow when I got in the room said it all. No washcloths or hand towels. Nowhere to put soap in the tiny shower. I could go on ...

Good hotel in a great location, close to good restaurant's, the subway and other transit routes, Stayed here twice as its close to where my family live. Staff on reception are always smart, professional and polite. Hotel Zarenhof have another hotel on Schonhauser Allee in the Prenzlauer Berg area, again its excellent. Look forward to my next trip.

It's a nice enough hotel. Clean rooms, friendly staff. I found it a little weird that I had a double bed but was given a single duvet and pillow. The pillow was some monstrously large thing, and not large in width but height. The only other issue I had was with construction happening in the courtyard, which felt like it started at around 5:30am, not the hotel's fault necessarily, but a heads up would have been nice. I can't comment on the breakfast because it came separately but it's a nice average hotel.

Extremely good value for money. Excellent breakfast and very clean and quiet room. Close to subway and the large allées
