The host was very friendly. We arrived at 8 am and he arranged for an early check in right away. The place provides free breakfast buffet. The items are limited to cornflakes, bread and butter/jam and basic tea and coffee, but still good in quality. The bathroom is shared but still kept clean. The rooms are warm with good working heater and the beds are cozy too. The best part about the rooms are that they have good furniture including a cabinet to arrange clothes and hang coats. It was an absolute value for money!

Room 2 was absolutely infested with bed bugs. I have over 26 bites all over my body. You also cannot open the windows, so the room smells kinda funky. There are also basically two owners -- the long haired one who is friendly and a pretty cool guy, and the guy with no hair who is rude and even shouts at guests who want to use the coffee machine. You'd think someone who is in the hospitality business should be nicer, but they aren't. I definitely will not recommend this place unless you are absolutely desperate.

I don't understand where the hate is coming from for this place. Of course it looks kinda old, there's people who look like they're living there and a little more could be done about the cleanliness (though it's fine), but what else could you want for such a low price?
It has a great location. Like 200 m from the subway and within walking distance to the opposite side there's a laundromat.
The staff was super friendly. Alex, a Russian bloke, let me check in about 45 minutes earlier, at about 12:15! I somehow missed the moment they charged my card and I was handing out the bill to pay for my stay and Alex told me it was already paid for. Good man.
The bathroom facilities are o.k. There's toilets and showers in each of them. To whoever said there was no doors in the toilets: of course there aren't any, you have the bathroom all for yourself, just lock the door!
The number of bunks v. room space ratio is just fine, and they give you a coat hanger for each bed. No lamps, but an electrical outlet for each bunk.
I never had a problem with the internet. There were 3 different Wi-Fi networks to choose from and I didn't need to change to any one from my first choice.
There are safes in the common area for you to put your stuff in if you have a lock. Also there's a computer, a fridge, a microwave oven and a soda dispenser all in the —yes— small common area.
Complimentary breakfast consists of bread, butter, jam, coffee, milk, tea, cereal, cheese, salami and ham. It's all you want for that price. It's all I needed anyway.
The only thing that was kind of annoying was the lack of a front desk person for an early check out. Breakfast is served at 8:30 (so Alex would arrive by then) and I had to leave at 8:00. I left my key to one of the Russian guys that seemed to know their way around there and that looked like they ran the place. Come to think of it, I didn't get my 5 € deposit back for the key! Aw, well...
I'm sorry I didn't take any pictures. This place was great. If I'm ever traveling solo in Berlin, I'll sure consider paying them another visit.

Okay no frills hostel. WiFi works. Too few bathrooms, one of which needs a makeover (moldy walls and shower door etc...). Decent location and breakfast is good, although there is not enough room for all guests to sit down.

Well, what to complain about for THAT rate? It's not a 4* Hotel, so don't expect too much.
But yes, it is a bit weird, sitting on the toilet without a door. But in old Roma it was the same, wasn't it?
The room was also not really clean, some fungus on the windows. But the need sheet was clean, that's all that matters ????

Small but clean. Would recommend for a short stay, if you don't mind communal showers. Good price-to-quality ratio.

Bad hostel, i pay via booking, i arrive, i give the code and my name, he find me in the computer and he ask me money, i pay again, 23 euros by day. I pay for 4 people by room, i was in a room with 8 people by room, and it's a nazism place and the club in same street is a racist place. Sad BERLIN. Der Boden riecht BAD. Der Rest war leider sehr dreckig. They receive peope like mafia with a lot of violence. Bad place with sexism people.
