I love fat Marie, she was real mighty. But honestly I thought Dicke Marie would be even fatter. Where I come from my family owns an even fatter oak tree than Dicke Marie that’s called Bamseeken which is a bit more than 6m in diameter (Dicke Marie is only 5,98m) so to anyone thinking about visiting Dicke Marie I would recommend Bamseeken instead for an even juicier tree experience.

Also Dicke Marie looked skanky with all those hollow trunks????

Berlin's oldest tree with 800 years. Humboldt gave him the name because of his housemaid. Very nice location on Tegeler See. Restaurant with toilets and playground nearby.

Oldest tree in Berlin. Nice walk between lake and forest.

The name sounds funny but the spot is totally bang on. This tree is an Oak tree standing tall for about 900 years. It is at a perfeck spot inside the forest near Lake Tegel and you can do a bit of hiking to reach there :)
Good place to explore before dark though ????

Really a tree at the age of 800 years old is Fenomenal. Goethe, and the brothers Wilhelm and Alexander von Humboldt have visited the tree too..❤️

Nice walk along lake and calm location to visit Dicke Marie.
