We went to Culaccino to celebrate a special occasion with a friend. Sadly, we weren't impressed.
The appetiser was good, but nothing too exciting.
For the main, I ordered tagliolini with truffle and goose liver. I was told later that they didn't have goose liver. Instead of being offered alternatives, I was told that I would get simply more truffles. Not really ideal, but okay. The overall flavour was a bit bland and boring.
For dessert I had tiramisu. It was also okay.
Decent selection of wine.
I just don't think that the service or the food were so exceptional to justify the high price point. Around 20€ for appetiser and 30€ for main isn't necessarily ridiculously high price point for any dining establishments, but it just did not feel justified given the food and services provided.
There are many more Italian restaurants in the city that offer good food and decent service for lower price. While I didn't particularly have a good or a bad time, I don't think I'll be going back. Feels like 3 stars is about right.
