Yesterday my girlfriend and I visited TorBar. Beautiful interior, great atmosphere outside, great people around us.
We ordered Foie-Gras (pastete) which was served with marmalade and toasted bread with candied orange peel. Well presented, very good quality. However, I prefer Foie-Gras in the form of liver, but I know that in Germany it is a forbidden form.
We also invited snails to join us, which were wonderful, a very well-balanced taste of butter with herbs and garlic, the snails melted in our mouths for that, a great respect.
The oysters were very correct, slightly different in size, but the overall taste was great and very fresh, served with a sauce of apple cider vinegar and shallots. I am making oyster sauce on champagne or prosseco the taste is more refined and not very sour.
In addition, there were fries with truffle mayonnaise that stole my heart!
Finally, I want to add that the service was very polite and professional.
In my opinion, as a chef and experience in Gastronomy all over Europe, I can wholeheartedly recommend TorBar. If you want to feel the taste and atmosphere of France and meet beautiful people, you have knocked on their door.
